ATTORNEY PHILIP A. KING is the owner of the firm, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Firm, LLC.  For ten years, Mr. King advocated for justice in the public sector, most recently with the Ohio Supreme Court’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel. He has litigated more than 90 federal cases, 100 state cases, 30 disciplinary cases and four class actions. Philip has also won 7 federal trials and made 6 oral arguments before the Ohio Supreme Court.

Mr. King has over 20 years of trial experience. He is currently listed as an Adjunct Professor at Capital University Law School and trains attorneys on Legal Ethics at Continuing Legal Education Seminars across the state. His broad range of knowledge further allows him to preside as a Hearing Officer for four state agencies and pro-bono corporate counsel for the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Though his work in the public sector was gratifying, Mr. King saw a clear need to make the law more understandable and accessible to individuals with real-world problems. As a result, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Firm, LLC assist individuals with probate, estate planning and guardianship issues where Mr. King strives to give superior service while making the law as clear, simple and affordable as possible.

Gabrielle N. Nixon (Gaby) joined the firm as an attorney in November 2024, focusing on estate planning and probate law. A native of Florida, she is passionate about guiding individuals and families through the intricacies of planning for the future and managing estate administration with empathy and precision.

Gaby earned her Bachelor of Arts in English-Literary Studies from the University of South Florida in 2020 and her Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 2024. During her time in law school, she demonstrated exceptional academic and community engagement, earning both the Robert Weiler Company Scholarship and the Susan H. Brocker Scholarship in recognition of her achievements and dedication.

With a client-centered approach, Gaby takes pride in delivering personalized legal counsel. Whether drafting wills and trusts, assisting with incapacity planning, or navigating families through the probate process, she is committed to providing thoughtful, detail-oriented solutions to protect her clients’ legacies.

Outside of work, Gaby enjoys quality time with her family, playing tennis, and immersing herself in a good book.

ATTORNEY FELICE HARRIS is a native New Yorker and proud alumna of Denison University and Capital University Law School. Ms. Harris began her legal career as an appellate attorney with the Office of the Ohio Public Defender and, after mastering the complexities of post-conviction practice, prosecuted misdemeanor offenses with the Columbus City Attorney. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Harris returned to the Ohio Public Defender to supervise the office’s Juvenile Division; speaking at industry conferences and testifying before the Ohio legislature.

The consummate learner, Attorney Harris holds a Master’s degree in Counselor Education and was awarded the CUNY Graduate Center Presidential MAGNET Fellowship (2003 – 2007) as she pursued a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice. Ms. Harris represents Central Ohioans in delinquency, criminal, and appellate matters and provides legal research and writing services to fellow attorneys.  In 2017, Ms. Harris joined The Law Office of Philip A. King, LLC as Of Counsel, where she lends her expertise in the areas of research and motions practice. Ms. Harris is licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio, the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

ATTORNEY MARCUS A. ROSS has been an of counsel attorney with our law firm since 2020.  Marcus focuses on criminal, traffic, and OVI/DUI defense.  Marcus has over 20 years’ experience handling misdemeanor and felony criminal matters in Columbus, the central Ohio metropolitan area and throughout the State of Ohio.  Marcus began his career as an Assistant Columbus City Prosecutor.  As a prosecutor, he handled numerous bench trials and jury trials on traffic, criminal and OVI/DUI cases. He also practiced extensively in the Mayor’s Courts in Franklin County, Delaware County, and Licking County.

Marcus received his B.S. in Finance from Hampton University, a M.A. in African and African American Studies from The Ohio State University, and his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School.  He has been licensed as a member of the Ohio State Bar since 1997. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  In his spare time Marcus enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with family and friends. Marcus is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

ABBY DESLANDES is the Office Manager for Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Firm, LLC.  She joined the firm in November of 2019.  She provides administrative support to the office and always displays a positive and hardworking attitude. Her management experience in a large retail company included staff training, scheduling and customer service. She is a graduate of Raceland High School in Kentucky.

Abby loves the great outdoors and enjoys spending time with her husband Jamario, daughter Nova, and her two dogs Cooper and Chewba.

DONALD (DJ) DECKER is a Legal Assistant at Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Firm, LLC. DJ joined the firm in January of 2023 and handles client matters and contributes to the firm in various ways. He enjoys helping our clients navigate the legal process.

DJ enjoys watching movies with his wife Ciarra and helping coach his son’s hockey team. He is a proud Buckeye, having attended Ohio State University, and is an avid supporter of the Buckeyes, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Cleveland Browns.

Gabriella Peloquin joined the firm in December 2024 as our receptionist, where she serves as a warm and professional first point of contact for clients. In this role, she is responsible for greeting visitors, addressing inquiries, and supporting the firm’s day-to-day operations. Gabriella is committed to fostering a welcoming environment, ensuring clients and team members feel valued and comfortable.

Outside of work, Gabriella enjoys exploring her creative side through arts and crafts, often collaborating on projects with her best friend, Mary. She also cherishes relaxing movie nights with her partner, Joshua. A passionate animal lover, Gabriella is especially fond of turtles and capybaras. Having attended Ohio State University, she is a dedicated Buckeye and was honored as a Morrill Scholar for her leadership, service, and commitment to diversity and social justice.
